The man allegedly drove a stolen car into police vehicles at a Safeway parking lot near Everett.
EVERETT — A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle into vehicles in a Safeway parking lot and a deputy firing at the car.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a welfare check around 5:20 p.m. in the 5800 block of 134th Place SE. They found a man sitting in a parked car. They learned it was reported stolen by checking the plate identification, said Julie Moore of the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team that investigates law enforcement officer use of force.
The deputies reportedly tried speaking with the man, who then allegedly drove into a bystander’s vehicle and police vehicles. A deputy fired once at the vehicle, and the man complied with their commands and was booked in the Snohomish County Jail.
The shot did not hit the man.
